1. Why buy my bike from a bicycle shop rather than online or from a superstore?
If you buy your bike from a bicycle shop, not only will you almost certainly get a higher quality bicycle, but you will also get the expertise to go with it. The bike will usually have a better ride, last longer and require less maintenance. You will be able to see and touch what you're buying, and to have a test-ride on the same or a similar model. The staff at the bike shop will assist you to choose a bicycle that best suits your needs and is the right size for you. The bike will be assembled by experts who will provide custom adjustments to ensure that the bike is exactly matched to your body, making it comfortable and efficient to ride. You will also be able to browse a range of bike-related items.

2. What accessories will I need with my new bike?
Most importantly you should consider a helmet to protect your head in the event of a fall, a lock to prevent your bike from being stolen, a set of lights and a good pump to keep your tires inflated. You will also need comfortable clothing and footwear to suit all likely weather conditions. The range of accessories is huge, water-bottles, panniers, car-racks etc. You can also minimise the risk of punctures by upgrading to reinforced tyres and self-sealing inner-tubes.

3. How do I maintain my bike?
You can carry out your own maintenance quite easily with a few basic tools by following the instructions provided by the manufacturer. There are many useful written and video instructions to be found online. If you find doing your own maintenance a chore, however, we offer a number of inexpensive maintenance plans to keep your bike in tip-top condition. We can pick your bicycle up from home or work, service it and return it (usually the same day), if you wish, and we can send you a reminder so that you will know when the next maintenance is due.
